Laura Kelly

What strikes me most about Laura Kelly is the rare blend of a psychologist's training and a politician's grit. Rising from the Kansas Senate to become the state's 48th governor, and winning reelection in 2022, signals genuine staying power rather than a fleeting moment. I suspect her background in psychology gives her an unusual feel for how people actually think and respond, which can't hurt in the rough world of state politics. I tend to admire steady, substance-over-spectacle figures, and Kelly reads to me as exactly that kind of durable, quietly effective public servant worth watching.
