My Take
Lesli Linka Glatter is one of those names casual viewers overlook but serious fans revere. Helming episodes of Twin Peaks, Mad Men, and Homeland, she shapes mood and emotional nuance with a director's quiet authority. Winning the Directors Guild of America Award three times speaks volumes, especially for someone who fought to the front lines in an era with far fewer women behind the camera. Her acting background clearly sharpens her feel for human emotion. I have deep admiration for artisans like her who shape greatness without seeking the spotlight, and television is richer for her steady, intelligent hand.
