Lurrie Bell carries a weight few guitarists can claim: he is the son of legendary blues harmonica player Carey Bell, and that inherited lineage gives his Chicago blues an authenticity you cannot manufacture. Born in 1958, he strikes me as a man who has poured every high and low of a long, turbulent life straight into his strings.
