My Take
Walsh is the patron saint of the actor whose face you know but whose name you never learn, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Across 200-plus films he never once stole a picture, yet he changed the temperature of every scene he touched, from Bryant in Blade Runner to a string of unforgettable cranks. What fascinates me is the trajectory: a kid from rural Ogdensburg with a Clarkson engineering background who became the gold standard for character work. When he died at 88 in 2024, cinema lost one of its most reliable textures. That weathered grin still feels permanent to me.
