My Take
May Britt's story moves me more for its life than its filmography. A Swedish actress with a brief career in 1950s Italy and then Hollywood, her enduring footnote is her marriage to Sammy Davis Jr. from 1960 to 1968, an interracial union that demanded real courage in that climate. I find it striking that she largely stepped away from the screen for love and family rather than fame. There is a quiet integrity to choosing a private life over a career. She passed in late 2025, and I think of her as a star who burned briefly but truly.
