Nicolas Coster

I have a soft spot for actors like Nicolas Coster, the dependable craftsmen who hold a scene together without demanding the spotlight. Across stage, film and television from the 1960s into his eighties, he became a fixture of daytime drama as Lionel Lockridge on Santa Barbara, while popping up in everything from Wonder Woman to Star Trek. That range is not luck; it is discipline. The fact that he also produced suggests a mind that saw the whole production, not just his own lines. When he died in 2023 at 89, he left a career most leading men would envy. A true working actor.
