My Take

Noah Clowney represents the part of sports I enjoy most: the unwritten chapter. Born in 2004 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, barely out of his teens, he went from one season at Alabama straight to the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. I cannot tell you yet what kind of pro he will become, and that uncertainty is exactly the appeal. Following a veteran is comfortable; betting early on a young big man still finding his game is a small act of faith. I would rather watch a story start than catch it already finished, so I am keeping an eye on him and trusting that the best of his career is still ahead.
