RedOne

RedOne fascinates me because he proves that the center of pop music can be reached from anywhere. Born Nadir Khayat in Tétouan, Morocco, he built the sound that propelled Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Enrique Iglesias to the top of the charts. Those hooks are almost criminally addictive, and they cross borders without effort. What I respect most is the sheer determination it must have taken to leave a small Moroccan town and dominate Western pop on his own terms. Working with everyone from One Direction to Jung Kook, his ear bends across genres and generations alike.
