Rikako Ikee

Rikako Ikee's story resists easy summary. At eighteen she took six golds and MVP at the Asian Games; months later she announced she had leukaemia. Then she swam back, to the Olympic pool in Tokyo and again in Paris. I am wary of the word inspiration; what moves me is quieter. After that interruption, she decided she could get fast again.
