My Take

Robert Almer is the sort of footballer I instinctively root for: a 194 cm goalkeeper who climbed from Bruck an der Mur, a small Styrian town, up to the top of the Austrian game. Keepers rarely get the romance strikers do, but the position demands a special blend of nerve, reading, and patience, and Almer clearly had it.
