Ron Simmons fascinates me because he conquered two brutal arenas. A Florida State football man who became the first African American WCW Champion, he turned the discipline and physicality of one sport into dominance in another. Reinvention at the top level is rare; most people who switch fields start over near the bottom. Simmons did not.
