My Take

Sam Harris is one of the few public intellectuals I find genuinely worth wrestling with. A Stanford-trained neuroscientist and philosopher, he made his name picking a fight with religion in The End of Faith, then turned around and treated meditation with equal seriousness in Waking Up. That refusal to pick a tidy team, marrying hard rationalism with contemplative practice, is what keeps me listening even when I disagree. His long-form podcast, Making Sense, shows a man who would rather think out loud and risk being wrong than offer easy answers. Agree or not, his insistence on first principles makes the conversation sharper. I respect that enormously.
