My Take

Goalkeeping is the most thankless job in football, which is why Sammy Bossut earns my admiration. Born in Tielt, West Flanders, he gave the bulk of his career to a single Belgian club, Zulte Waregem, in an era when one-club loyalty has become almost extinct. I value that constancy far more than a glittering transfer record. Standing 187 cm between the posts, he must have lived through every high and low alongside the same supporters for years.
