Sandy Lam

Sandy Lam fascinates me because she started behind the microphone as a DJ before stepping in front of it, and you can hear that producer's ear in how she phrases a song. After reigning as a Hong Kong pop diva in the 1990s, she didn't coast; she won the Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Female Singer twice, in 2012 and 2018, deep into her career. That's the mark of an artist who kept updating her own sound instead of chasing trends. I respect longevity earned through reinvention far more than early fame, and she embodies exactly that.
