My Take

Shammi Kapoor is, to me, a genuine treasure of Indian cinema. Born in 1930s Mumbai into the legendary Kapoor dynasty, he carved out his own lane as the joyous rebel of Hindi film, all bounce, swagger, and irrepressible energy across more than a hundred movies and five decades. The Filmfare wins and the IIFA Lifetime Achievement honor only confirm what audiences already felt. What I love most is his dancing; it was never about technique but about pure, infectious joy that pulls you out of your seat. He helped invent the kinetic spirit of Bollywood, and for that he has my deep respect.
