My Take
Stephen Wolfram is the rare figure who refuses to stay inside any single field. A MacArthur Fellow at twenty-one, he then built Mathematica and the Wolfram Language, tools that quietly underpin a huge amount of real scientific work. A New Kind of Science was audacious and divisive, and I genuinely enjoy that divisiveness; we need thinkers willing to risk overreach in pursuit of a unifying idea. You can question his conclusions, but you cannot question the relentlessness. I admire people who try to build their own framework for understanding the universe rather than tinkering at the edges of someone else's.
