My Take

For my generation, Steve Cardenas will always be Rocky, the second Red Ranger, and that nostalgia is hard to shake. But what genuinely fascinates me is the range. A genuine taekwondo athlete who became a fight-driven TV hero, then reinvented himself as a working jazz guitarist, is following an unusually creative arc. The martial arts training clearly lent weight and authenticity to his on-screen action. There's something quietly admirable about a man who was a childhood idol to millions and simply kept building a real artistic life afterward. Discipline in the dojo, expression on the fretboard. I find that combination genuinely cool.
