My Take
Tom Welling spent a full decade playing Clark Kent in Smallville, and I think that commitment is wildly underrated. Holding a single role for ten years without losing its sincerity is an endurance feat most actors never attempt. A former model with a leading-man frame, he could have coasted on looks, yet he gave small-town earnestness real warmth. His later turn in Lucifer revealed a darker register, and his move into directing and producing tells me he is genuinely curious about the craft, not just the spotlight. I respect actors who outgrow an iconic role gracefully instead of resenting it, and Welling has done exactly that.
