Tsubasa Okabayashi

Honestly, just the name "Tsubasa" — meaning wings — feels like a good fit for a pitcher. He joined the Hiroshima Toyo Carp as a development player out of Komono High School, and the thing about players like him is that every pitch is built on invisible thousands of hours — early mornings, sprints nobody sees, the grind that doesn't make the broadcast. His pro career was short, and his younger brother Yuki went on to the pros too, but I still respect the work it took to get that far.
