Vani Hari

Vani Hari, the Food Babe, fascinates me less for the science debates that swirl around her and more for what she proved: a single blogger, starting in 2011, can pressure giants like Kraft and Chick-fil-A into reconsidering their ingredients. Becoming a New York Times bestseller along the way only underscores how much appetite there is for someone asking blunt questions about what we eat. I take her critics seriously, and rigor matters. But the instinct to demand transparency from a powerful industry is one I respect, and her reach is undeniable.
