Willow Shields

Willow Shields will always be Primrose Everdeen to me, the heart that gave The Hunger Games its emotional stakes. Born in 2000 in Albuquerque, she played the protected younger sister with more quiet steel than the part demanded, which is harder than it looks. Now she is navigating the tricky passage from child star to adult actor, branching into dance and stretching her range, and I find that ambition encouraging. I would rather see her grow on her own timeline than chase early fame, and I am quietly rooting for exactly that.
