My Take

Zach Filkins interests me as the kind of musician most people hear constantly without ever knowing the name. As the guitarist for OneRepublic, he's part of one of the more ubiquitous pop-rock bands of the last two decades, even if frontman Ryan Tedder soaks up most of the spotlight. The Colorado roots and the fact that he's also worked as a model tell me he's comfortable in front of a camera, but I suspect his real satisfaction comes from being the steady architecture behind the hits. There's something appealing about thriving in that essential, unglamorous role.
