Zhao Jiamin

Zhao Jiamin is a fascinating figure from China's idol scene. Born in Shenzhen in 1998, she rose through SNH48 and finished first in the group's second general election, which in that fan-voted world is a genuine mark of devotion. I find it telling that she's expanded from singing into acting, since the idol-to-actress pivot is one of the harder transitions to pull off. At 166 cm she fits the polished idol image, but topping a general election speaks to something beyond looks. I'm curious how her post-SNH48 chapter develops, because that early peak set a high bar for whatever she builds next.
