Atsushi Nagai

Honestly, when I first came across Atsushi Nagai I didn't know what to expect — a 2000-born baseball player out of Soka, Saitama, which is quietly famous for its senbei crackers and a kind of unpretentious, working-class pride. He was a fourth-round pick of the Hiroshima Carp who never got into a first-team game, and he is still playing club ball in his mid-twenties. I find myself genuinely curious about where he lands — there's something compelling about a guy who keeps letting the game do the talking.
