My Take
I'll admit it, I never expected the golden-boy heartthrob from Thelma & Louise to turn into one of my favorite character actors, but here we are. Brad Pitt could have coasted on that jaw and those cheekbones forever, and instead he kept picking the weird, sweaty, slightly unhinged roles, the soap-making anarchist in Fight Club, the mumbling goof in Burn After Reading, the unbothered stuntman in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that finally landed him an acting Oscar. What really wins me over is that he's a genuine film nerd behind the scenes too, his Plan B outfit quietly bankrolling gutsy movies like 12 Years a Slave. A real movie star who's never too vain to look ridiculous, and somehow he's only gotten cooler with the gray hair.
