My Take
Brina Palencia is one of those voice actors whose versatility quietly amazes me. Chopper in One Piece, Touka in Tokyo Ghoul, Ai Enma in Hell Girl: completely different characters, all convincingly hers. Beyond dubbing she works in theater, television, film directing, and audiobook narration, a breadth that usually signals a dabbler but here signals genuine craft. There's something moving about Japanese anime crossing the ocean and coming to life through her voice. I admire performers who refuse to be boxed in, and Palencia clearly belongs in that category.
