Chris Algieri

Chris Algieri is exactly the kind of contradiction I love. A WBO junior welterweight world champion who came up undefeated in kickboxing, holding both ISKA and WKA titles, and who also works as a nutritionist with a Stony Brook education behind him. A fighter who approaches a brutal sport with intellect and discipline is endlessly compelling to me. Born in 1984 in Huntington and standing 178 cm, he had the nerve to challenge for major titles against serious names. A man who trains both body and mind that thoroughly tends to live well after the gloves come off, and I admire that.
