Corrie Sanders

Corrie Sanders represents everything I love about boxing's capacity for the impossible. Walking in as the underdog and dropping Wladimir Klitschko inside two rounds to take the WBO heavyweight title is the kind of night that rewrites a career and a sport's memory. The Ring naming it Upset of the Year only confirms what fans already felt. What moves me is that a southpaw many had written off summoned that thunder when it mattered most. His death in 2012 was a genuine loss. I picture a craftsman who let his fists, not his mouth, do the talking, and I respect that deeply.
