My Take
Da'Vine Joy Randolph is the kind of artist I find genuinely thrilling to watch ascend. Philadelphia-raised, Temple-trained, stage-forged, she didn't get hyped into the spotlight; she earned it role by role until the awards became impossible to ignore. That 2023 sweep, capped by an Academy Award and a Time 100 nod, felt less like a surprise than an inevitability. What grabs me is the foundation underneath it all: a singer and theater actor whose technique carries the screen. She's not a flash in the pan, and I'd bet heavily that her best work is still ahead.
