My Take
What I admire most about Daniella Pineda is the unconventional path she took, climbing from online comedy and fashion videos to major roles in The Originals, Jurassic World, and the live-action Cowboy Bebop. That comedic background gives her timing and a wry edge that most action-genre actors simply lack. Her Faye Valentine and Zia carried genuine personality rather than just genre archetypes. As a Mills College graduate who also writes, she strikes me as smarter and more versatile than her filmography has fully exploited so far. I suspect her best, most distinctive work is still ahead of her.
