My Take
What strikes me most about David Tennant is his refusal to be typecast by the role that made him a household name. Plenty of actors would have coasted on the Tenth Doctor's popularity forever; Tennant instead threw himself into Shakespeare on stage, villainy in prestige dramas, and gleeful chaos as Crowley in Good Omens. His 2023 return as the Fourteenth Doctor felt less like nostalgia-bait and more like a genuine love letter to fans. Add in his warm, self-deprecating podcast persona, and you get that rare thing: a beloved star who seems to grow more curious and more generous with age. I admire him enormously.
