My Take
Derek Muller, the mind behind Veritasium, is to me one of the most important science communicators working today. Trained in engineering physics and holding a University of Sydney PhD in physics education research, he built a channel with over twenty million subscribers and billions of views by treating viewers as curious rather than ignorant. What I admire most is his method: he leans into misconceptions, lets you sit in your wrong assumptions, then dismantles them, which is far harder and more honest than simply reciting facts. That fusion of academic rigor and storytelling instinct is rare. In an age drowning in noise, having someone make people genuinely think feels like a small public service.
