My Take
Ekta Kapoor strikes me as one of the most quietly powerful figures in Indian entertainment. As the force behind Balaji Telefilms, she built an empire on Hindi television and Bollywood, shaping the stories that play out in millions of living rooms every night. A woman running the creative engine of an entire industry is impressive enough, but the Padma Shri and an International Emmy confirm the cultural weight of her output. What I respect most is the recognition that mass-market storytelling, often dismissed, is precisely what burrows deepest into everyday life. She understood that, and bet her career on it brilliantly.
