Erika Eleniak

Erika Eleniak is remembered for the red-swimsuit era of Baywatch, but what impresses me is the arc underneath the icon. She debuted as a child in E.T., one of cinema's most beloved films, then held her own opposite Steven Seagal in Under Siege. It's easy to reduce her to the Playmate label, but I see a working actress who built a steady career across film and television rather than coasting on one image. That kind of persistence, from child performer to leading lady, deserves more respect than the tabloid shorthand usually grants her.
