My Take
Heather Langenkamp is far more interesting than the 'scream queen' label suggests. Yes, she defined Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street, but what intrigues me is the mind behind the screaming, a Stanford graduate who clearly approached acting with intelligence rather than instinct alone. She later moved into directing and producing, and stayed thoughtfully engaged with the franchise that made her name instead of running from it. Plenty of horror stars flare out after one hit; Langenkamp cultivated both her body of work and her own path. I genuinely admire that resilience and self-awareness.
