Ichikawa Utaemon

Utaemon Ichikawa was born in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture, in 1907, trained in kabuki from childhood, and made his film debut in 1925 with Makino Film Productions under Shozo Makino. He then headlined jidaigeki, Japan's period dramas, from the 1920s all the way into the 1960s. Sit with that span for a moment.
