Itsunori Onodera

Onodera came out of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, then served twice as Japan's defence minister. A sea-sciences graduate running defence for an island nation: coincidence, but tidy. He is no loud operator, and in a job where one error cannot be undone, that suits me. His home town, Kesennuma, was gutted by the 2011 tsunami.
