My Take
Okay, I'll admit it: I came to Miwa Harimoto expecting "Tomokazu's little sister" and left fully converted. Watching a teenager from Sendai stand across the table from hardened adult pros and just refuse to flinch does something to my posture, I sit up straighter every single time. What gets me isn't only the speed or the flat hitting, it's the temperament. At an age where most of us would crumble after one bad point, she resets to the next ball like nothing happened, and that cold little calm honestly scares me more than her forehand does. I love that she's clearly her own player, not a sequel to anyone. If she keeps swinging this freely, Japanese table tennis has years of edge-of-the-seat stuff coming, and I'm completely here for it.
