My Take

Jack Hughes is exactly the kind of player who makes the modern NHL fun to watch, all speed and creativity in the open ice. Being a number one overall pick carries enormous pressure, and the early seasons in New Jersey were rocky, but his breakout proved the scouting was right. What I find most compelling is the Hughes brothers story, three siblings all reaching the league at a high level. When healthy, Jack is electric, and his ceiling still feels like it hasn't been fully reached. I'm always curious to see how far he and the Devils can push together.
