Joe Neguse

Joe Neguse is exactly the kind of politician I want to keep an eye on. Born in 1984 in Bakersfield to Eritrean immigrant parents, educated at the University of Colorado, and a lawyer before entering Congress, he has represented Colorado's 2nd district since 2019. He is also the first Eritrean-American elected to Congress. I admire how he embodies the immigrant-story optimism that American politics so often promises but rarely delivers. He feels like someone playing a long, principled game rather than chasing headlines.
