John Mooney is one of those quietly impressive guys who just does the work without needing the spotlight. A 6'9" big out of Notre Dame, he was never a flashy prospect or a high draft pick, but he carved out a pro career through sheer hustle and basketball IQ — the kind of player coaches love because he boxes out, runs the floor, and never takes a possession off. His move to Japan's B.League with Chiba Jets Funabashi is honestly a smart play: guys who thrive in that system tend to get real minutes and develop into complete players rather than riding pine in the NBA.
