Liván Moinelo is one of those quietly elite lefties who makes you do a double-take the first time you see him work. Born in Pinar del Río — Cuba's baseball heartland — he defected and found his home with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, where he's been an absolute weapon out of the bullpen. That sweeping slider of his is legitimately unfair against left-handed hitters, and his composure in high-leverage spots is the kind of thing you don't really teach. He doesn't have the name recognition of some NPB foreign stars, but anyone who watches Hawks baseball knows he's a guy you absolutely do not want to face in the late innings. A classic case of the right pitcher finding the right league at the right time.
