Manpei Takagi

Honestly, the thing that gets me about Manpei Takagi is the road he took to get here. You graduate from Nagoya University — one of the most respected national universities in Japan — and instead of heading straight into some corporate career or academia, you pivot into acting, voice work, film, and modeling. That takes a certain kind of self-awareness, or maybe just a refusal to ignore what actually excites you. Born in Nagoya in 1985, he's got that late-Showa generation energy: not flashy, not loud about it, and when he and his twin walked away from acting together in 2017 to pursue photography, he did it just as quietly. That kind of versatility usually comes from someone who takes the craft seriously rather than chasing the spotlight, and that's the type I always find myself rooting for.
