My Take
I find Milena Govich genuinely easy to root for. A Norman, Oklahoma native who acts, sings, dances, and plays instruments, she carried real range before stepping into the franchise spotlight as Detective Nina Cassady on Law & Order. Leading a season of that institution is no small feat. What impresses me more is her move behind the camera into directing, choosing to shape stories rather than merely appear in them. There's a quiet determination in someone who rose from the University of Central Oklahoma to network television and then kept growing. I respect that arc.
