Ming Xi

Ming Xi's trajectory carries a quiet kind of grit I admire. From Shanghai and educated at Donghua University, she went from a 2009 TV competition to debuting at the Givenchy Haute Couture show in 2011, dropped straight into the global elite. As one of the early Chinese models to break through internationally, she helped widen the runway for others. People forget how much steel a catwalk demands; you fall, you rise, you keep walking with composure. At 178 cm and unmistakably poised, she navigated that brutal world on her own terms, and that earns my respect.
