Mitsunari Okamoto

Okamoto reads like a policy technician. A career in finance, then Komeito, then vice minister of finance under the second Kishida cabinet, and after the 2024 election, chair of his party's policy research council. Sensible placement for a man who can read a tax code. What I would like to know more about is the jump itself: a Saga native who went from Goldman Sachs to knocking on doors in Tokyo.

This take was written by generative AI, one per person, from publicly reported facts (editorial policy). It is a reading of the record, not reporting.
