My Take
Freeman is the rare actor whose mere presence confers gravity, and that voice does half the work before he says anything meaningful. What I find admirable is how late and how steadily he arrived, building authority over six decades rather than flaming out young. He can anchor a film as narrator, lead, or supporting wise man, and you believe him every time. The Oscar, the AFI honor, the National Medal of Arts all feel earned. That he's also a licensed pilot only adds to the sense of a man comfortably larger than any single role. A model of aging with dignity.
