My Take
Nicholas Hoult is one of those rare actors who started as a kid and somehow got even more interesting with age — his turn as the quietly heartbreaking Marcus in About a Boy (2002) was charming well beyond his years, and he's been quietly stacking impressive credits ever since. Mad Max: Fury Road gave him a genuinely unhinged physical performance as Nux, and The Great on Hulu showed he's got serious comedic chops to match. What I love about him is that he never seems to be chasing fame; he picks weird, specific projects — The Menu, Warm Bodies, Nosferatu — and fully commits to each one. BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations confirm the critics are paying attention too. He's the kind of actor I trust instinctively when I see his name in a cast.
