My Take

What interests me about Nikki Tyler is the trajectory rather than the genre. A Berkeley native who studied at the University of New Mexico, she became one of the defining adult performers of the 1990s and a 1995 Penthouse Pet, then did the harder thing: she moved behind the camera to direct.
