My Take
What I admire about Pat Travers is his quiet commitment to the craft. Born in Toronto in 1954 and recording since the mid-1970s, he's a guitarist, singer and songwriter who never needed flashy stats to make his case. He picked up the guitar at 12, saw Jimi Hendrix in Ottawa soon after, and was spotted by Ronnie Hawkins while playing Quebec clubs, and that path resonates with me. Running his own official site decades into his career signals a working musician's pride rather than nostalgia. I have real respect for artists like him who carve a steady path and keep showing up, indifferent to whatever trend happens to be loud at the moment.
